I've started an Archer/Reed Exchange community at ar_exchange.

There aren't a lot of holiday exchange events on LJ where there is much interest in Enterprise, much less in A/R, so I thought we could start one. I really like the idea of writing something or making some art for other people who enjoy this pairing.

It isn't only for fic (though of course that's welcome), but also for exchanging icons or art, playlists, or vids.

It's not a one-to-one 'exchange' and there is no commitment or deadline. It's a place where you could place a request and others could reply to it. More than one response to a request is great, but I hope everyone will scan the list for unfilled requests as well.

I know how busy people are at this time of year, between NaNo and other holiday commitments, but it might offer an opportunity to brighten someone's day whenever you do it. There's no word limit or size limit - a drabble or an icon is fine.

You DO need to join ar_exchange to post a request list, though anyone is welcome to post responses.

Thanks! Hope to see you there to share some love for our guys!

I posted this long-delayed fic from my Refuge series over on my LJ, but in the interest of community preservation here, I wanted to post a link to it.

Author: Mareel
Fandom: Star Trek Enterprise
Rating: NC-17
Pairing: Archer/Reed
Series: Refuge 15/16
Sequel to: Adrift
Length: ~7500 words
Summary: Yesterdays and tomorrows… the personal aftermath of the Xindi mission

Notes: This is the long-missing piece from my Refuge series, a look at how the mission to the Delphic Expanse affected the established relationship between Jon and Malcolm. It does stand alone, but makes reference to earlier parts of the series, and alludes to events in Season 3 canon. However, it diverges from canon events following their return to Earth after the destruction of the Xindi weapon

My deepest thanks to those who have waited so patiently for this to finally be finished and gently reminded me of it now and then. Both Jon and Malcolm tell their parts of this story, and it took a long time to get them to share it all with me. The title and section headers are from Enya’s “Fallen Embers.”

When I was a child, my father and I would go out stargazing together. The sparkling lights seeming to smile down upon us as he pointed to each star, in each constellation and told me about them. Telling me stories about Orion, the hunter and warrior, about Ursus Major the bear, and all the others, fuelling my imagination. I dreamt of exploring the stars, yearned to visit each one and see what they were really like in person and I wanted to do it with my father by my side, just like he was on those many nights of stargazing. For every night we went, I was surrounded by love and by starlight and to me they went together and one would not be complete without the other. rest of the storyCollapse )
